The Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Basic Safety Training is a globally mandated certification essential for anyone pursuing a career aboard commercial vessels, including cruise ships, yachts, and cargo ships. Spanning approximately 40 hours over 5 days, this comprehensive program equips maritime professionals with the critical skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies, uphold safety protocols, and understand their onboard responsibilities.

The training includes four core modules:

  • Personal Survival Techniques (PST): Learn how to abandon ship safely, use lifejackets, and operate survival craft and rescue equipment during maritime emergencies.
  • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF): Gain practical knowledge to identify fire hazards, prevent onboard fires, and use firefighting equipment to control incidents swiftly.
  • Elementary First Aid (EFA): Master basic medical response skills including injury management, CPR, and casualty care until professional help arrives.
