Course Overview

The study of networking includes the network fundamentals, network elements, applications, content etc. that make up the service-enabling technologies. The Network Engineering will give students an understanding of the full range of modern communication technologies, network protocols and middleware required for modern networks. It will equip them with the expertise to design, build, configure and test modern networks and networked services.

About Network Engineer

A Network Engineer is an individual that is responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software systems that make up a computer network including the maintenance and monitoring of active data network or converged infrastructure and related network equipment.

Network Engineers are generally mid-level support staff within an organization and do not typically get involved directly with users. Network Engineers focus upon network components within a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure ensuring integrity. Depending on the company and its size, the Network Engineer may also design and deploy networks.

Network engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. Their goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers.

Network engineers may work internally as part of an organisation’s IT support team or externally as part of an IT networking consultancy firm working with a number of clients.

Other job titles used to refer to this kind of work include network support, support engineer, IT support engineer, helpdesk support, network administrator, first-line support, second-line support, and security engineer and network architect.

E-Course Duration: 20 to 25 Hours

 Exam Information

  • The exam comprises of 50 Multiple Choice Questions out of which the candidate needs to score 70% (35 out of 50 correct) to pass the exam.
  • Exams are online and proctored based, using a webcam and a reliable internet connection exams can be taken anywhere and anytime.
  • The total duration of the exam is 1 hour (60 Minutes)
  • No external sources of information may be accessed during the exam at held via ProctorU.
  • If a Candidate does not pass the exam in the second (2nd) attempt, the candidate must wait for a period of at least fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of their attempt to retake the exam for third (3rd) time or any subsequent time.
  • The exam can be taken any number of times.
  • The Certified Network Engineer (CNE)â„¢ – Foundation Level Certificate is valid for life.
