Helicopter Safety Briefing
Understanding the different types of helicopters used in offshore operations. Familiarization with helicopter emergency exits, seating arrangements, and safety features.
Pre-flight safety checks and passenger responsibilities.

Emergency Procedures
Understanding emergency signals and communications.
Helicopter crash scenario: Actions and procedures during an emergency landing in water. Emergency exits and procedures for opening doors, windows, or hatches.

Underwater Survival Techniques
Introduction to underwater survival principles and physiological effects. Controlled breathing techniques and panic management. Demonstrations and practical exercises on underwater orientation, buoyancy, and swimming techniques. Use of Safety Equipment Overview of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for helicopter travel and emergency situations. Proper use of life jackets, survival suits, and emergency breathing systems. Hands-on practice with safety equipment, including donning and doffing procedures.

Helicopter Evacuation Drills
Practical training exercises in a simulated helicopter cabin or underwater escape module. Evacuation techniques, such as emergency window exits, emergency flotation devices, and life rafts. Teamwork, coordination, and communication during evacuation procedures.

Post-Escape Survival
Post-evacuation procedures, including survivor management and first aid. Survival skills in water, including signaling techniques, flotation devices, and hypothermia prevention. Rescue and recovery procedures, including interaction with rescue teams and equipment.

Assessment and Certification
Knowledge assessment to evaluate participants’ understanding of HUET concepts and procedures. Issuance of a HUET certification upon successful completion of the course.
